Format: 5 Round USCF Rated Swiss System Tournament in 4 Sections. Time Control: G/30 5 sec delay.

Special Top Prizes:

1st Place in each section wins a laptop computer with chess software

Chess Prizes for 2nd-3rd tablet

Every player receives a free membership to the Internet Chess Club (ICC)

Autographed copy of “Quick Chess Tactics for the Busy Player” by Coach Frank Johnson

Sections: Open (1400+ Rating), Reserve (1000-1399), Junior Open (600-999), Junior Reserve (100-599)

Eligibility: All players must be members of the United States Chess Federation. Scholastic event. Players will not be allowed to complete the tournament without a valid membership. 
Unrated players only eligible for trophy prizes. 
Special top prize winners must have 25+ games completed before round 1 of event.

Entry Fee: $69 by 8/5, $75 on site.

No Refunds after round 1 has started. 

Bye(s): One half point bye allowed. Must be requested at the time of registration and used before round 5. 
Rounds: 10am,11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm, 3:45pm.

 Award Ceremony: 5pm. Top Two Boards in each section broadcast online. Please bring chess clock. Chess vendor onsite.

We will accept registrations on a first come first serve basis.

No onsite registrations.

Atlanta Area Chess – the same folks who bring you Kid Chess – is putting on a FREE tournament!

To confirm entry for the tournament and the first round starting at 1:00 PM please arrive by 12:45 PM. The tournament will go untill roughly 4:00 PM.

This is an unrated event open to all*.

Format: 4 rounds, 10 minute clocks with 5 second increments for each move (G/10; inc.5)

In two sections:

  • Open: people under the age of 50
  • Senior: people 50 and older

Chess Atlanta 1/2 Day Tournaments (am & pm)

Where:  There are two tournaments running on Saturday, March 11th at Georgia Tech in the Georgia Tech Student Center (350 Ferst Drive, Atlanta, GA 30332) in the Piedmont Room.


There is the Morning Tournament, 3 rounds, G25/d5. LIMIT 50 PLAYERS

Round 1: 9:30, Round 2: 10:30, Round 3: 11:30

There is the Afternoon Tournament, 3 rounds, G25/d5. LIMIT 90 PLAYERS

Round 1: 2:30, Round 2: 3:30, Round 3: 4:30
Three sections for each tournament: K-3 Under 600, K-6 Under 600, K-6 Open (must be rated 600 or higher)

THIS IS A RATED TOURNAMENT. You must have a USCF ID in order to register and participate. NO BYES.

Prizes for top 5 in each section for each tournament.

Registration Deadline: March 9th. Entry Fee: $40 **EARLY BIRD ENTRY FEE: $30 by March 4th**
(Late Registration fee $50 to register on March 10th)

Expert and Master game analysis and simuls will be offered during the tournaments.
