AAC’S Free July Speed Chess Open Results

Congratulations to the following winners!


Senior

Marvin Banks placed first in the Senior section with a perfect score!

Our very own Justin Morrison (the founder of Kid Chess) took second place with three out of four points.

Third place was captured by John Langley, after tie breaks, with a score of three out of four!

Also, a big thanks to the remaining competitors in our senior section: Mary Cowans, Jared Radin, Victoria Lee, Cheryl Jackson, Mike Jones, Charlotte Westfield, Ron Lewis, Steve Higgins, Bill Noyes, Jim Varda and Ken Ifill!

Open

Siva Sathishkumar won first place in the open section with a perfect score!

Alexander Rutten placed second with three and half points out of four.

Our very own Chase Nixon (Kid Chess Coach), after tie breaks, made third place with three out of four points.

Alan Walk placed fourth place, after tie breaks, with three out of four points.

Darryl Freeman won fifth place, after tie breaks, with three out of four points.

And a huge thank you to the remaining competitors in the open section: Scott Whitehead, Gerald Stafford, Warren Conley, Brett Morrison, Suryanarayana Ganti, Sinclair Gray, Miguel Marti, Mikhail Morozou, Brion Ozim, Juan Oveido, David Russell, Karla Whitehead, Mark Jones, Bradley Brown and Herman Jones!

Metro Atlanta K-8 Team State Qualifier Results

Kid Chess (AAC’s Parent Company) would like to give it’s congratulations to the following Kid Chess teams for placing at the Metro Atlanta K-8 Team State Qualifier this weekend with a plus score and being invited to the Georgia K-8 Team State Championship this coming March 25th!

This weekend is the Kid Chess Atlanta Area Championship on Saturday (2/11) and the Middle School/High School Competition 1 on Sunday (2/12) which are also great opportunities in scholastic chess competition. Both events are almost full so head over and sign up today!

In the open section our very own Kid Chess Coach, Jordan Page took first place!

For second place there was a three way tie among Justin Morrison (Kid Chess’ Owner), Sinclair Grey (Who was hired by Kid Chess and is soon to join our team!) and Sumit Sohani (Previous KC student).

U1400

Taking first place in our U1400 section was former KC coach and current KC student Brett Morrison!

Herman Jones (current KC coach) won second place in our U1400 section.
